The Doctor Who Regeneration Chart

Description

In honor of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary and the Time of the Doctor Christmas Special coming up I present my Doctor Who Regeneration Chart which I have been working on for the last week or so.

While I have loosely known of Doctor Who through Tumblr for a while I didn't really start watching until Name of the Doctor aired and after that I got hooked. I watched a handful of episodes leading up to the 50th Day of the Doctor (my favorite currently is Paul McGann after seeing Night of the Doctor). Afterwards I made this chart, as a new fan this was more so created for myself so I can better understand all this regeneration stuff, which is a bit confusing to a newcomer like me. Especially after the addition of the War Doctor, my confusion with the Shalka Doctor, the early rejuvenations, the Peter Cushing Dr. Who, and Moffat recently stating the regeneration energy used to created the Metacrisis Doctor counted towards the numbering. I also added little interesting facts I picked up along the way. I hope this chart clears some things up. If not, this was still a fun project to draw, my first time drawing humans in a while (a refreshing change from ponies).

EDIT 1: For clarification it should be noted that canon incarnations of the Doctor are in the darker circles, all the light ones are not canon or parodies. Corrected some spelling errors on the poster.

EDIT 2: As some have pointed out the Pokemon character is named "Looker" not "The Looker", I was probably just thinking it sounded close to "The Watcher" when I made this. It has been changed to just "Looker". As well some have pointed out a huge number of different non-canon Doctors, but if I included them all this poster would be impossible to read. I will try to get of all of them listed here just for reference.

UPDATE: Thanks to Doctor Who TV for posted this poster on their site.

I started drawing all the caricatures about a week ago. Each one took roughly one hour from sketching to final inking to finish. I finished 6 on my first night, 3 the next day and the rest the day after. I will probably upload all the Doctor caricatures to DeviantArt later but for now here the links to all of them on my Tumblr page where you can see my additional comments and progress on this piece:

Thanks to the Tardis Data Core which was a great source for finding all this information and to my friend Captain British captainbritish.deviantart.com/ who is a big Doctor Who fan and helped get me on board.

I dedicated this chart to my favorite authors, including British writers Alan Moore (who got his start writing Doctor Who comics) and Neil Gaiman (who wrote two Doctor Who episodes)

Love you even added the Fatal Death doctors (which in hindsight definitely predicted the current era).
