Between all the magic, connections to the royal family, and her own Princess-hood, every other pony really is just gambling that Twilight isn't going to just start locking ponies up or banishing them whenever they piss her off.
Monarchies are like that.
Sure, in theory. This kind of invalidates my joke, but Twilight holds no apparent power of state, and I'm pretty sure Luna is happy just to get control of her little barren, rocky satellite back. Celestia seems pretty well in charge of everything.
Then again, I feel like pony politics depends more on headcanon than most other aspects of the show.
Well, I imagine that Celestia abdicates whatever power she decides to abdicate. I doubt there's a formal structure in place for the other Princesses to help or give them any innate authority because of their title. She's always been the sovereign, so why would they have any such system?
I suppose it helps that the sovereign is an immortal being responsible for one of the most vital ecological functions on the planet.
If we had a ruler who was demonstrably a God(dess), I'd probably be a lot less into democracy too.
OF TO THE MOON!
The ghostbusters ran into the same problem.
'I'm the Queen of England!! I demand a Taxi!'
'Oh yeah? Then queen yourself up a taxi by yourself yer' highness.'
Still, as some reviewers said... The 'NO ONE IN EQUESTRIA' caring about it is getting quite ''old''.
THAT CUTIE MARK IS 4CHAN'S LOGO!
HOW HAVE I ONLY NOW REALISED THIS?!
She could have teleported or flew...
Actually, I think it also illustrates where Twilight needs to grow as a character. She needs to grow more backbone. Yes, it's good to be humble and kind, and Twilight is a very good pony already, but she also needs assertiveness, more than she already demonstrates. Not everyone needs to be her friend, and she will undoubtedly need to assert herself to ponies in a true time of need later. Hopefully this is addressed in the remainder of the season.
How many times Equestria gets invanded, I don't think they have a lake of heroes. Meanwhile, they totally forgot about teleportation spells, or potensial flying her.
