Update: Brony Off used this image in a video for their Equestrian Hymn. I am a big fan of patriotic anthems and their piece was exactly the kind of music I had in mind while drawing this picture. [link]
The thought of a hymn playing in the background makes me think more of the Battle Hymn of the Republic (just with the characteristic pony changes. "Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of Her sun..."), but Brony Off is definitely talented.... much like yourself.
This is a great piece, reminds me of the Iwo Jima flag raising... thing. I don't really know what to call it. I digress, it's great either way, you most certainly possess a great talent, my good sir.
Thank you for your kind comment. I actually love the Iwo Jima and other flag raising pics with inspired this one. I was actually listening to Battle Hymn as well as the Patton March, Hail Columbia, and Aces High March when drawing this.
I think that you modeled this picture on the one of the US propagand posters... I don't know the name, but I've seen it: some soldiers are planting the flag some like this. And if not, the model could be a French Revolution poster, [link] - el elinque .
Hail Equestria, righteous land! Hail, ye heroes, heav'n-born band, Who fought and bled in freedom's cause, Who fought and bled in freedom's cause, And when the storm of discord was gone Enjoy'd the peace your valor won. Ever grateful for the prize, Let its altar reach the skies.
Firm, united let us be, Rallying round our liberty, As a band of ponies joined, Peace and safety we shall find.
