Fear and Loathing in Las Pegasus by SouthParkTaoist Fear and Loathing in Las Pegasus by SouthParkTaoist
I normally avoid MLP and fandom news and just found out about this Unicon Las Pegasus thing a few hours ago. From all I heard from the Q&A video from Ever Free Radio I think it shows how awesome this community is for raising money to help out the VIPs and special guest after being charged by the hotel. Even though I am not really involved with other bronies and normally dislike all the fandom drama I think that the way such situations are handled really show how great this community is in keeping with the theme of the show. It is amazing how all the different parts of this fandom united and helped pull money together for the VIP guest and keeping the situation calm.

As more news comes out I will make sure to help spread the word about any relief funds and such on our TumblrPonCast. Hopefully even one is just home safe and no one is stranded in Las Vegas.

Okay, yes I am sure someone did this idea already but this was the first thing that popped in my mind when I was reading all the news and just had to draw this. Two hours is not bad right?

If people like this image I might see if I could try and use this for the auction or other Relief Fund stuff for donations.

UPDATE:
I am putting some things on the LPU Relief League for donations.

Wasn't quite the death of the American Dream, but it was damn close.

"It was all over now. We'd abused every rule that Vegas lived by. Burning the locals, abusing the tourists, terrifying the help. The only chance now, I felt, was the possibility that we'd gone to such excess that nobody in the position to bring the hammer down on us could possibly believe it."
-Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

Haha, so true. :D

The Unicon thing sure was unfortunate. But it also gave our fandom the opportunity to prove how great and generous we can be when we stick out for each other!

This Unicon thing is really embarrassing, and the VAs have every right to sue the organizers, be angry and refuse to have anything to do with the fandom anymore, and I'd be okay if they did.

What had happened at Unicon is unfortunate and terrible, and hope that nothing even close to this ever happen ever again.

Knowing the VAs and writers who were there, they will still do everything they can with the fandom, just with better cons and whatnot.

Like EFNW and Bronycon, which are established at this point and large enough that it won't happen to them there, since they're not run so poorly.

So...what happened? >_> I've been hearing about this relief fund everywhere but nobody's said what happened to make a relief fund necessary.

From what I know, the organizers didn't make enough money to pay everyone, so the hotel that was 'hosting' the guests began billing guests that were promised free rooms and trying to take money from vendors.

I'm still curious to see if this whole thing was a scam. But I won't be surprised if the two people who ran it were just ill-prepared idiots.

If you look at Sandi and Eddie's history, they have a long history of conning people. This wasn't there first time around the block, especially after there pet shop scam.

Yeah I just now read about that. It's seeming more and more unlikely that these are just two very unfortunate people who aren't good at running anything.

I guess we will see how it will play out.

Haha, what a mess this turned out to be. Those people are so fortunate to have such a generous fandom bail them out. Hopefully others will learn from this and cons in the future won't be so ill-managed.

Sad to say this has probably left a lasting negative impression on pony cons with most.
